This morning we had our last walk with Cato and stopped for coffee after a muddy time on Wandsworth Common. There was a lot of interest in our toasted sandwiches!
After an uneventful drive home, I wanted to use the lovely food processor I'd been given for Christmas to make bread. It turned our perfectly and Wiggle & Sofy enjoyed their share, warm out of the oven:
Apparently it was all too much for Sofy though as she decided to go to bed early, comfy on her new fleece blanky:
And as we approach the end of 2013, Wiggle wishes you a very happy, healthy, bouncy and bright new year!

We had a frosty but sunny walk on Tooting Bec Common this morning.
Wiggle didn't mind the cold:
Between them, Wiggle, Sofy and Cato received lots of new toys for Christmas:
Despite all their new toys, I couldn't resist these two extra large toys that were less than half price in Harrods. Posh toys!
Wiggle especially likes Red Robin:
Sofy and Cato were distracted from toys for some wrestling:
Wiggle discovered that the bigger the toy, the more stuffing it bleeds!
Red Robin must have been a Very BAD Toy!

After the sadness of losing Toby yesterday, I realised that I hadn't posted photo's of our lovely last walk with him at Richmond Park on Boxing Day. It was a cold, misty morning in the park.
Sofy was taking time to raise her energy levels:
While Wiggle was busy running with his ball:
Toby was very perky on Boxing Day, trotting along by the river:
Sofy was in the river:
Wiggle and Cato were running around:
Toby, looking happy as he headed for a puddle:
And in the puddle, some fun splashing around:
Green parakeets live in the tree's in the park:
Yesterday, we were of course quite subdued but today, we had a cold, crisp start to our day so went out early to cheer ourselves up with a walk at Greenwich Park:
Wiggle, with his ball as usual:
Cato and Sofy, best of friends:
Running in the sunshine in the historic park:
Cheeky Sofy, sticking her tongue out for their photo:
A sneaky squirrel ran out in front of us:
Starting to slow down, running uphill towards coffee and breakfast. Shared with the dogs, of course:
We all miss Toby but are very glad that he had such a fun day on Boxing Day and that we were able to share it with him.

We have very sad news today. Toby was put to sleep this morning after a very sudden and very quick deterioration in his health.
Yesterday we had all enjoyed a lovely walk at Richmond Park but after we got back,Toby collapsed and couldn't get back up by himself. His back legs had given way.
This morning Toby was no better so we took him to the vets first thing and she confirmed that he wouldn't recover from the collapse - his back legs were just too weak and there were no options.
Toby was never happy about going to see the vet, but he didn't struggle as we carried him in, still in his bed. He passed very peacefully.
We are all very sad and will miss Toby, a gentle boy who I've known for over nine years but we know that now he is reunited with Beenz, watching over Paul and Mindy from Rainbow Bridge.

The auction ended for Wiggle's calendar's yesterday and we raised a fantastic amount - £120.00!
We are really, really pleased to have raised such a great amount for just 3 special calendar's and know that the money will go to help Wiggle and other special Labbie's who are cared for by LRSE&C.
Thank you to everyone who took part. We hope you enjoy your Year of Wiggle!
Sunday, 22 December 2013
There's only hours to go until the auction ends to win a super special Wiggle 2014 calendar, raising funds for LRSE&C.
All the details are here: Clickety-Click
We have bids already but as LRSE&C are a fantastic charity and without them, Wiggle wouldn't be the dog he is now, so we really want to raise as much as we can.

This week I've been busy taking care of Christmas preparations, which includes sending out Wiggle's Christmas cards to his lovely sponsors and supporters.
I realised that this year is the 6th year of special Wiggle cards, so I took a look back through previous years.
Wiggle's first card, 2008:
And last year, 2012:
2013 - that's a surprise!
We will always be grateful for the support LRSE&C receive on behalf of Wiggle as without them, he wouldn't continue to receive the veterinary care that he will need for the rest of his life.

Today's been a dreary rainy day but yesterday was nicer so we walked into town to get a few things.
Wiggle and Sofy enjoyed their walk, waiting patiently outside a couple of shops and then browsing some stalls. They were particularly interested in a food stall, but despite their "feed us" faces, they didn't get to help themselves.

This morning we went over to Virginia Water for a walk. It was only arranged yesterday, but Mindy wanted to take Cato so as we didn't have much planned for today, we went to meet her.
We also met up with Pat and Doug, lovely LRSE&C helpers who brought Bosun and Enzo, so we had a pack of 6 Labs walking with us.
Soon enough, they were all getting wet. Playmates Cato and Sofy were happy to be reunited:
Sofy swam out for the ball:
Concentrating on her doggy paddle:
Cato, Toby, Sofy and Wiggle:
Enzo joined them in the lake:
We followed the path and walked past the waterfall, while Wiggle and Cato wanted a closer look:
As we carried on, we came to a nice shallow part of the water:
As we thought, Cato did indeed like it at Virginia Water:
Doug was mugged for treats:
On dry land, it was time to play fetch, Wiggle in front and Enzo bringing up the rear:
Toby and Enzo left the fetching to the younger members of the group:
Going in different directions:
Lovely old Bosun:
Wiggle, looking regal by the lake in the Royal Park:
Sofy, keeping close to me:
While Cato was running around, Wiggle and Toby were sniffing by the water:
Before long though, Wiggle was back, still carrying his tennis ball:
Bosun, in motion!
Wiggle and Enzo, running in the sunshine:
Back to the water for some more splashing around:
Bosun and Sofy, checking to see if I had any treats:
Sofy made the biggest splash:
For a short while, we gained an extra Black Lab:
I love Bosun, he's such a handsome old chap:
Time to say goodbye to the lake:
Wrapped up warm to dry off:
We had a lovely day and I'm sure Wiggle and Sofy aren't the only ones crashed out this evening!
