Millie has been for her CT scan today, here's the update from Mindy:
"Millie has had her CT scan however we do not have any conclusive results yet. She is undergoing further tests and we hope to have more news tomorrow although some of the tests may take a while to come back. She is safe in the care of the specialists and I will update you as soon as we hear more. Thankyou so much everyone for your ongoing support xx"
For anyone in Bedfordshire, there's a Walk for Millie, details HERE

This afternoon, Wiggle and I took a trip over to Marlborough
Wiggle, sitting on the steps of the Town Hall:
After wandering along the High Street, looking in shop windows, we stopped for coffee. Wiggle was especially interested in the giant CustardCream cookie I'd got:
"You're going to share with me, aren't you?":
Indeed, the giant Custard Cream broke into two:
And Wiggle had his share!

Following on from yesterday's blog post, this evening there is an update from LRSE&C Trustee Mindy:
"Update on Millie. She's not very well - tonight she has been taken off one lot of antibiotics due to the risk of joint damage they may cause. It may be she has to go back on them tomorrow - Julie is en route to the vets now to pick them up. Julie is taking her to the specialists on Monday it is hoped that they can do the ct whilst Julie waits and then depending on the results if they can do something she will stay in for whatever hopefully the treatment will be.
She needs to get better over the weekend to be able to cope with the long journey. I have to be honest with you all that there is no guarantee that all will be fine but she deserves every thought and help we can all give her to give her the chance."
LRSE&C would be very grateful for a donation, large or small, to help with costs for Millie's care.

Urgent news in from LRSE&C for a special little Lab called Millie.
Millie is a gorgeous dark yellow pup. Thankfully she is now in the care of LRSE&C and desperately needs a CT scan, at a cost of approximately £1,000.
This is why LRSE&C urgently needs donations:
"Millie had been taken to a veterinary practice in South London by her owners, suffering dehydration and severe breathing difficulties. They had bought her 11 weeks ago from, we assume, a Puppy Trafficer and she had been very unwell from the first day they to...ok her home. By the time they had asked Labrador Rescue South East and Central for help, as they could no longer afford treatment for Millie, she was suffering chronic pneumonia and was given a 60/40 % chance of survival. She was admitted for hospitalisation immediately with the owners relinquishing their interest in Millie and LRSEC agreeing to cover the cost of treatment. It was touch and go for 48 hours, but Millie clung to life and began to improve despite the odds being stacked against her. After 5 days of hospitalisation and two lots of I.V antibiotics, Millie was able to leave the Vets and go into a loving and committed foster home for continued nursing and convalescence.
Millie is doing very well, but is by no means out of the woods yet. She will need further treatment before she is well enough to be re-homed and that special home will need to be able to offer the love and attention she's deserves for the rest of her life, which we hope will be a long, happy and healthy one.
We are looking for sponsorship for Millie so that we will always fund treatment for her current condition which could recur in the future if the Pneumonia proves to have caused long term damage to her lungs."
After last week's disasterous pancakes, I decided to make some more tonight and that meant sharing with my furry helpers.
Pancakes - as they should be!
Sofy, ready to grab the pancake coming towards her:
And Wiggle, the split second the pancake left my hand and landed in his mouth!
I think they agree that I did much better this time

It's been a lovely sunny day here so this afternoon we made the most of the good weather and went up to the Downs:
As usual, Wiggle ran ahead:
His tactic worked and he got the ball:
Stretched out running!
Wiggle looks half asleep but I'm sure his eye's weren't used to such bright sunshine:
Sofy manages to run and look silly at the same time:
Wiggle wasn't distracted by the slobber on the side of his mouth as he and Sofy stared at the ball in my hand:
Sofy attempted a tricky move for the ball which very nearly ended up in a tumble:
But she recovered well and carried on in a more athletic way:
More enthusiastic retrieving:
Fun in the sun:
One dog and his ball....

We've had a muddy walk in the field this morning, where Sofy was nearly blending in with the muddy ground:
Wiggle was disappearing in the fog:
But was soon back to me and waiting for me to throw the ball:
Wiggle watches me while Sofy watches the ball:
Keeping close together in the misty field:
Running back to me:
Once he had the ball again, Wiggle was leading the way home:

Wiggle and Sofy have been on their best behaviour this evening:
As it's Shrove Tuesday, they were waiting for pancakes!
Unfortunately, I'd not planned very well and although I bought pancake mix, I didn't remember butter for the pan, so we ended up with pan-dollops rather than pancakes, but Wiggle didn't mind:
Sofy wasn't bothered either:
Wiggle, managing to look cute while eating!
Teamwork: cleaning the plate:

Wiggle and Sofy are worn out after a busy weekend - sharing pizza with myself and my visiting friend on Friday evening, then showing off their toy whapping and shredding skills, plus of course walks in between. Today we've had a horrid rainy, windy day so they decided today was going to be Lazy Sunday.
Wearing fleeces to dry off after our morning walk, Wiggle chose the sofa:
Sofy was sleeping in the dog bed:
Waking up to take off their fleeces, Sofy curled herself up into a little ball on the other dog bed:
While Wiggle was still enjoying the sofa:

Today, another item was stolen and taken to one of the dog beds:
Wiggle says he didn't steal the tea towel from the kitchen. Wiggle was trying to look very innocent, curled up on the sofa:
So if it wasn't Wiggle, it could only have been Sofy. But she has taken herself up to the spare room bed and is refusing to comment....

Today is Wiggle's Twitter Birthday!
Since joining Twitter on 6th February 2009, Wiggle has gained over 2,100 followers and with a little help from me, made nearly 32,000 tweets.
We have got to know other dog lovers from around the world, helped to promote rescue Labrador's and LRSE&C. We've even heard that its through Wiggle's tweets that one or two of our lovely homeless Labrador's are now in their forever homes.
Wiggle met and fell in love with the gorgeous choccie LucytheLab and through Twitter, Lucy's mom and I became good friends, with me visiting Lucy and her mom in Seattle last year!
Wiggle will celebrate his Twitter Birthday with a nommy little snack. And then tweet about it!
